Shanti Stupa
Though it overlooks our hostel, we hit the Stupa after quite some time. But it was worth it. The Stupa gives a stunning view of the entire Leh. This Stupa was built by the Japanese, and is a landmark in the town of Leh.
One night when we had hired the bikes, we wanted a night view of the town. We rode to the Stupa at 10:00 PM in the night. An apprehensive Lamaji came hurriedly to check if we were burglars ... and unintentionally i blurted "Lamaji, do you live alone here". This was enough to scare the hell out of him. He took few steps back defensively. Then we convinced him saying we are a bunch of students from Mumbai and decided to leave from the place.
